# SambungAPI for businesses

Your team answers the people who message your business on WhatsApp, from one place.

## What your team does without a developer

- **Connecting your WhatsApp Business Account.** In the console, select Connect a WhatsApp Business Account, then Connect with Meta. Sign in to Facebook in a Meta window and enter your business phone number there. A number in the WhatsApp Business app keeps working in the app. You connect it once.
- **Chats.** Read and answer the conversations that people start with your business. Give a conversation to a teammate, and mark it resolved when the work is done. When a person's last message is more than 24 hours old, you can send only a [message template](/glossary#glossary-term-message-template) that Meta approved.
- **Contacts.** Each person who messages your business becomes a [contact](/glossary#glossary-term-contact). Give a contact a name, [labels](/glossary#glossary-term-label) such as "VIP" or "wholesale", and a note. Only your [organization](/glossary#glossary-term-organization) sees them.
- **Templates.** Write message templates and send them to Meta for review. Only an approved template can start a conversation.
- **Campaigns.** Send one approved marketing template to many contacts at once. A campaign reaches only the contacts who agreed to receive marketing messages from your business. Record each agreement on the contact first: how and when the person agreed, and what they agreed to. You can also record many agreements at once from a file.
- **Members.** Invite the people on your team, and choose what each person can do.

## What needs a developer today

- **Messages from your own software.** Your software can send a message when something happens in your business, for example when an order ships.

## What you need first

1. A SambungAPI account. It is free to create, and it creates your organization: your company's own space in SambungAPI.
2. A [WhatsApp Business Account](/glossary#glossary-term-waba). Meta keeps your business phone numbers and your message templates in it.

## What it costs

SambungAPI is free to start. Meta charges your business for WhatsApp messages at Meta's own prices, and Meta bills your business directly. Since 2026-10-01, Meta also charges for the replies that your team sends in Chats, not only for message templates. Add a payment method in WhatsApp Manager: without one, Meta can stop delivering your messages, replies included.
